Can I Persuade You? Is designed to inspire anyone who needs to get results
with the help of other people - whether inside or outside their organisation.
It gets people to identify the beliefs and values that motivate others as the
basis for persuasion and influence. However, it also shows that it's not a
question of manipulation or smooth-talking. Integrity and mutual respect are
what it takes to create trust and build relationships - so the results are
long lasting and beneficial for all concerned.
Changing attitudes
By simple adjustments to the way you think and
act, you'll learn how to get others on your side. This programme is based
around a five-part drama that can be used in modules to show different kinds
of behaviour and emphasise key ways of dealing with them:
- persuade through their values - not yours
- really listen - and show it
- don't push to nowhere - pull to success
- think positive - and be assertive
- show empathy and understanding - because intimidation fails in the end
