Bullying costs money
In the UK over 100,000 people a day take
time off work for stress-related illnesses - as the result of bullying. That's
costly for both individuals and organisations. And the UK economy is losing
around £1.3 billion a year as a result of this lost productivity.
Bullying is serious. No organisation can afford to ignore the cost.
A practical solution
A result of unique partnership with the
TUC, this practical pack offers a step-by-step guide to help you tackle
bullying in your organisation. It will help you:
- identify and acknowledge bullying in your organisation
- implement a company policy to combat bullying
- understand your legal responsibilities
- train your managers and supervisors to deal with bullying issues.
The pack is based around a video drama that illustrates three types
of bullying behaviour. As well as showing the negative impact on both
individual and organisation - the pack addresses:
- The employer's responsibility - how to deal with bullying and prevent it
occurring in the future.
- The employee's responsibility - how to understand what's acceptable and
what's not in the workplace.
- The trade union role/partnership - how to support both the target and
the bully by taking a 'blame free' approach.
And, to save you valuable preparation time, the pack includes ready-to-run
sessions for line managers, personnel and trade union reps. Plus there's
advice on how to put together and implement a 'best practice' company policy -
so it works.
