Whilst we do not provide a service delivering training ourselves, our extensive network means that if you are looking for an outside trainer to deliver courses, we can still help you. How involved you want us to be with you regarding a staff development or training strategy or as a resource finder is very flexible. We have some clients who know exactly the resources they wish to hire or purchase and use IOL as their sole point of contact rather than dealing with many different companies. Other clients have employed us specifically to match competencies with resources to help reduce the risk of buying expensive resources that do not match needs. Our Major Client Scheme has been designed to help achieve the training, learning and business needs for all those who wish to build a strategic partnership with us. In addition to this we can help with the setting up and administration of Open Learning Centres. At a time when individuals are required to take more responsibility for their own development, organisations need to create more individual learning opportunities. The Learning Centre is an important way of doing this. "Good idea", we hear you say, "but they don't work!" Well, no, they do sometimes fail. There are a variety of reasons for this, including poor internal marketing or administration - it won't work if you buy poor products and shove them on the top shelf of a cupboard in the stationery room under lock and key!! Open Learning Centres should have a key role within the training strategy.
